Trailing cables, ever

Berkshire and Oxfordshire service

The wall and the wiring are the tricky part

Berkshire homes range from Victorian lath-and-plaster in Henley to plasterboard-on-dabs in newer Newbury developments, and each needs its own fixing approach. We work out what's behind the plaster before drilling anything, and use fixings rated properly for the weight going up.

Where it's safe and sensible, cable runs inside the wall itself; where that's not possible, we use slim trunking painted to match so it fades into the background. We can also add a fresh power socket behind the screen and move the aerial or satellite point at the same time.

Every mount gets checked with a spirit level and tilted to suit where you'll actually be sitting. We take the old stand away and leave the room clean when we go.

How it works

TV wall mounting: from phone call to finished job

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Give us your postcode and describe what's happening on screen. Often we can narrow down the likely cause before the van's even loaded.

  2. 02

    On-site check

Your engineer reads the actual signal at roof height, rather than assuming it matches the house next door.

  3. 03

    Clear price

You'll know the cost before anything is fitted, drilled or climbed.

  4. 04

    Fit and prove it

Once the work's done, every point in the house is checked and the area left as we found it.

Questions

TV wall mounting questions, answered straight

Anything not covered here, call 0118 968 0881 and speak to an engineer — not a scripted call handler.

Can a TV go on a plasterboard wall safely?

Yes. We find the studs, or fall back on heavy-duty fixings rated well beyond the screen's weight.

Will the cables actually be hidden?

In most walls, yes. Where routing through the cavity isn't safe, we use slim trunking that can be painted to disappear against the wall.

Can you mount above a fireplace that's still used?

Often, but we measure the heat at the proposed height first and will advise against it if it's too warm for the screen.

Do you take away the old TV?

We're happy to remove and recycle the old set and stand if you'd like it gone.
