Berkshire and Oxfordshire service
The dependable option for Berkshire's trickier reception spots
Wooded stretches up in the Chilterns, low-lying streets near Pangbourne and Sonning, and terraces tucked in behind taller neighbours all share the same headache: the terrestrial signal simply can't reach them, and no aerial upgrade will change that. Satellite arrives from a steep angle in the south-east and generally clears the obstruction without any trouble.
Freesat carries the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and their HD versions with no subscription and no ongoing cost, plus catch-up on newer boxes. If there's an old Sky dish already up there, we can often reuse it - a new receiver box and a re-alignment is a lot cheaper than starting from scratch.
We also fit Freesat as a backup alongside an existing aerial, so a summer of leaf growth or a storm-battered aerial never leaves the house without television.

How it works
Freesat: from phone call to finished job
- 01
Get in touch
Give us your postcode and describe what's happening on screen. Often we can narrow down the likely cause before the van's even loaded.
- 02
On-site check
Your engineer reads the actual signal at roof height, rather than assuming it matches the house next door.
- 03
Clear price
You'll know the cost before anything is fitted, drilled or climbed.
- 04
Fit and prove it
Once the work's done, every point in the house is checked and the area left as we found it.
Questions
Freesat questions, answered straight
Anything not covered here, call 0118 968 0881 and speak to an engineer — not a scripted call handler.
Is Freesat genuinely free to run?
Yes - there's no subscription at all. You pay once for the kit and the fitting, plus a TV licence as normal.
Can I keep using my old Sky dish?
Usually, yes. We'll check its condition and alignment, and if it's sound, reusing it keeps your costs down.
Does Freesat work in places where Freeview struggles?
Very often. Satellite reaches over most of the tree cover and land contours that block terrestrial signal in the Chilterns and along the river valleys.
Will heavy rain interrupt Freesat?
A dish that's sized and aligned properly copes fine with normal British weather. Rain fade is almost always a sign the alignment isn't quite right.
